After Langkawi, we headed to Kuala Lumpur! Kuala Lumpur was also so much fun. I was so lucky to have stayed for my first night in an amazing apartment building that had the best view of the city from an infinity pool…. Just perfection. Gemma and I wanted to explore the city the first day, so we did, we saw the Petronas Towers and had some delicious food, but then we actually hurried back to our room because we realized we should just chill next to the infinity pool. The pool closed at 10 or 11, I forget, but we were too late to go back in, which was kind of sad but we decided to be rebels and just go in any way, and surprisingly the guy working there didn’t say anything, he just kind of laughed at us and let us take our pictures haha!! It was the same guy that saw us earlier take like 1 million pictures with our selfie sticks and everything in the pool. We were making quite a scene for ourselves lol.

But this guy ended up starting to talk to us and he was from Bangladesh and working in K.L. and he showed us tones of pictures of what he kept calling “his country” with his accent, he was such a cute guy, super nice and we talked for like 30 minutes about the situations in Bangladesh and problems with the government etc, it was super interesting and very eye opening. It’s crazy how many people are living in terrible conditions… I honestly could have listened to this guy talk forever, it was amazing, I am so grateful to be able to meet people from all over the world, really I am blessed.

Next day we did the Batu Caves which were really cool, checked out Little India which was also awesome, I drank coconut water from a coconut for the first time! Which was actually pretty gross.. for some reason I was associating it with alcohol. That evening we ended up meeting up with 8 others from City U, and we were 6, so we were quite a large group. This night was one of the highlights of Kuala Lumpur though because we got stuck in intense pouring rain! Seriously we were all SOAKED, trying to make our way to a spot in K.L. that has food and bars. We finally got there, soaked, but it was well worth it. The street was full of bars/restaurants and there was even the one I was looking at online that had free drinks for women until 3am! PERFECT!!!

After grabbing a bite to eat, we headed to that place and after having enough to drink we headed to a better bar that had good music and I can’t even explain how much of a blast I was having. I never danced like that in my entire life, I was just enjoying myself too much, I wasn’t super drunk or anything, I was just genuinely having the best time ever!

Next day we went to visit the city, it was a gorgeous day luckily, SO hot though… It was a little intense at times I had to take a break and chill inside air conditioned shopping malls. But this day was interesting because we got asked by SO many people to take photos with us… People told me this would happen but I just don’t understand! Why do they want a picture with me? Hahaha it doesn’t make sense in my head. Literally one person would ask, and then others would see us taking a picture with them so they would ask right after.

That night we went to Thean Hou Temple which was fully decorated for Chinese New Year with lanterns everywhere. It was beautiful. This temple was what made us decide to go to Kuala Lumpur for our CNY break in the first place so it was great to be there. That was our last night in K.L. before heading to Taman Negara!!
