Today it is March 20th.
March 20th? WHAT? No. No, no, no, no, no, no! NO!!!!!!
Time is flying by WAY too fast. This is ridiculous. I can’t believe it. Classes end on April 25th and then I am gone travelling and my time in Hong Kong with everyone here is over. Okay so maybe you think I am being dramatic, but I have seriously came to the conclusion that I am having…. a mid-exchange crisis.
Yes, a mid-exchange crisis. It’s more than half way done!! I want to cry. I have SO much more things I need to do here. There’s no way I will be able to do all of it! I am going to China soon for 10 days (which I am definitely not complaining about, it’s going to be amazing), and then afterwards I only have a couple of weeks left which will be SUPER busy with tones of school work and presentations. And then its over. I am planning to go directly to Thailand to then travel around South East Asia (which I am definitely not complaining about either….). But this just means that I DONT HAVE A LOT OF TIME LEFT HERE! This fact has made me go a little crazy lately. This past weekend I went out on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. And, on the Friday and the Saturday I came back at 7am!
This is a double record for me. I hadn’t been out for 4 consecutive days in HK yet, and I hadn’t ever stayed out until 7am, without mentionning that it happened two days in a row!!! Yep. Not normal.
The most surprising part of this is, the Sunday of that weekend, Jorien messaged me inviting me to go for a “bike ride” with her and some others, and I was like pfff yeahh sure, I can go on a bike ride! So I go, and little did I know, we weren’t just going for a bike ride, we were biking for over 4 hours around the Northern Territories of HK. Thank god it wasn’t uphill but yeah I somehow trooped that out after a crazy 4 day drinking weekend. This bike ride was so great though. I’m very happy I went. It was beautiful. To my surprise, we even biked past Pat Sin Leng, which was super cool. AND, after the bike ride, we ate in a food court that had a place that sold POUTINE….. :’)
Also today, I was productive and went to a work shop about making money with property investments. It was super interesting and opened my eyes of new possibilities of income. I was happy to be able to dress up a little bit in business attire, but oh my god, I wore these damn heels, and then we met up with some friends for dinner at an Indian restaurant which we then also decided to head to Central for some drinks on IFC rooftop bar, and I was actually dying. My feet have the worst blisters, I walked home barefoot. Yep. It was wonderful!!! So yeah I’m never wearing heels here again! The restaurant and the rooftop were really great though! I’m going to miss this city soo so much.
I am so happy to be here, so grateful. I am having the best time of my life. I am so lucky to still have some more time here but I hope it doesn’t pass by too fast. I actually think time goes 10x faster here than in Canada. OK 3:40am, time for me to go to bed, I am hiking Lantau peak tomorrow after all!
